OH NO, No Video! (Discussion)

I just did the Lesson How to: add images to your comments

And there isn’t an image. I used H.264. Do you recommend something else for compression?

    Hi Andrew,

You may find Qlippit an option until the codes are enabled for videos. Here is a voice message using qlippit

@nelliemuller – wasn’t what I was asking but Qlippit looks interesting enough.

I used apple animation and I was pretty sure it worked. I re-compressed with apple animation but doesn’t work.

I recommend using the Sorenson codec if possible. You’ll get the best bang for your buck with that video codec.

One of the best easy-to-use video compressor programs is Sorenson Squeeze

You can download a trial, though I think it watermarks it. Another great program, though I think it’s PC only is VirtualDUB

All in all I recommend rendering with Sorenson 3 (mov) or DiVX (avi) codec for the best result. I am planning on putting together a view video lessons soon.

Also, I am working with Fliqz to properly put together what codecs and file formats are useable with the uploader so we don’t run into problems such as no video showing.

I compressed it into an flv with On2 vp6 and it worked. I’ll be sure to remember Sorenson 3 for another time.

The only problem is that it resizes/compresses my video. What are the exact dimensions so I can make my videos those size to avoid distortion?

I don’t recommend making it any smaller than 550 pixels wide. As for the hight, it doesn’t really matter as it doesn’t distort the height. So 16:9 is fine.

I just uploaded a few videos. I just hear them. No actual video. They were .mov files. Perhaps this site should list WhAT formats are acceptable for uploading files.
