   computer science is a vast domain and has a lot of places where you could make your niche

   you could be a programmer, or be one of those people who dabble with arcane maths or you could end up being someone who actually makes stuff like windows or perhaps websites with revolutionary features, etc

   as a domain, it has a lot of opportunities and opens multiple pathways to other domains too;

   a more important question is, where would you like to fit in to?

   I agree with this… you can study the employment and salary numbers as much as you want, but in general I think you should follow you heart.

   If you are passionate about the subject, you will do well at it, and probably never have trouble building a great career and making lots of money.

   By the way, I took Computer Science and have never regretted it!

   to add to this point:

   1. it’s most important to enjoy what you’re doing; otherwise, studying/working will be mechanical and you won’t be able to achieve whatever you’re capable of

   2. doing something you like a lot and getting better at it makes you feel fulfilled;
