How can I add tests (quizzes) to a course that was created as a Powerpoint presentation?

Depends on the test / quiz & your situation :-)

Live Quiz I’ve put up questions on the slide & then, having preset the answer to fly in on my mouse click (it’s under animations in PPT 2007) I can control when the answer appears

If you’re looking at essay type or multiple choice to be written & returned that’s straightforward & could be formatted to fit slides using bullets etc. You’d just print those slides off for students.

You would probably have to create the test separately and publish it to the course. I am not sure if you can add tests into a power point presentation and have them interactive when you upload to them using our lesson presentation tool. I believe the only interaction you have with the tool is to flip slides and click links.

You could create the test in LearnHub and link to it from your PowerPoint presentation.

Thanks to lechuck and LibraryLana for their suggestions to my question.

lechuck: I am working on working on your recommendation but having a little trouble connecting it to the test in learnhub.

I created the test in Learnhub – then I published it “to be shared privately in a course.” I then hyperlinked it to the URL http://learnhub.com/courses/389-the-power-of-organizational-orientation. (This is where the Curriculum is shown along with the Test.) However, I get a message when I test the link that “the internet reports that the item requested cannot be found”.

Is there another path that I should use to connect (hyperlink) to the test?

Don’t know if I understood you correctly, but here is the way you can add a test to a courses curriculum:
    1. Create a course
    2. create lessons, tests, discussions for your course – publish them privately to be shared in a course
    3. go to your course
    4. go to the curriculum-page (second tab, directly after main)
    5. click on “Manage curriculum” – you will be provided with a screen where you can choose from all your content to add to the curriculum of your course.
    6. add all appropriate content
    7. correct the order of the curriculum

That is it – hopefully ;-)

Peter: Thanks for your response. I have already done what you suggested. The problem is really hyperlinking directly from my Powerpoint presentation to tests in the course. When the link is tested it does not take me to the test in Learnhub to which it has been hyperlinked.

Did you try to publish the test, not only sharing it privately?

Yes, I published the test – sharing privately within a Course.

PowerPoint VBA lets you create test easily for your course and engage your students, here is a step-by-step guidance for you. http://www.quiz-creator.com/blog/2009/08/how-to-make-multiple-choice-quizzes-with-powerpoint/#110

    Hope this helps.
