How to: Inviting Contacts

Inviting your friends, contacts, and/or colleagues to LearnHub is a great way to share your content, populate your community, and inform others about LearnHub.

Inviting contacts to your community is an important step to Creating a Successful Community.

Inviting Contacts to Your Community

How do I invite someone to my community?
You can invite contacts to your community by clicking the "Invite People to Your Community" button found below the community description on the main splash page. You can also click the "Members" tab within your community. Both links take you to the same location.

Can I invite contacts from my Webmail address book?
Yes. You can import your Yahoo Mail!, Google Mail, and MSN Hotmail contacts. You do this by selecting the account you wish to import, followed by entering your webmail username and password. You will be then taken to the next screen where you can individually invite your contacts simply by clicking on the "Invite" button.

Is giving my webmail account information safe?
It's very secure. LearnHub does not in any way track or save the information you type in. We directly connect to the web service, such as Google Mail, and retrieves the information through them.

What do my contacts receive when I invite them?
LearnHub will automatically e-mail the invitee, stating you requested for them to join your community. They can follow the supplied link straight to your community where they are asked to sign up if they are not already a member of LearnHub.

How do I invite a fellow LearnHubber to my community?
You can invite a LearnHub member by typing their username in the "Add by Username" field found below the Webmail widgit.

Can I invite someone that isn't on LearnHub or in my address book?
Yes. You can invite individuals by entering their e-mail address in the "Invite by E-mail" field.

Inviting Contacts to LearnHub

How do I invite a contact to LearnHub, but not a specific community or course?
You can invite your friends to LearnHub through your Workspace. Simply click the "Contacts" tab found in the "About Me" section of your Workspace. From there, you can invite them through the Webmail services and by individual e-mail.

Inviting Contacts to Your Course

How do I invite a contact to my course?
You can invite both LearnHub contacts as well as outside colleagues straight to your course. Simply click the "Edit Course" button on the main splash page. From there, select your fellow contacts you wish to invite to your course and/or type as many e-mail addresses as choose.

Can I import contacts through my Webmail services?
At this time, no. We recommend first inviting them to LearnHub. After they are your contact, you can invite them into your course.

Tatjana, unless you are inviting a person through the course invites, you can only invite one at a time. There you can separate them either by a comma or a space.
