LearnHub: Your First 5 Steps

LearnHub, created by Savvica Inc., provides a centralized online education destination for teachers and learners of all kinds. With seventeen different features on one fully-hosted platform and a number of strategic partnerships, LearnHub is poised to become the World’s online education destination.

Our goal is the blur the line between instructors and students where an instructor in one subject may also be a student in many others. In doing so we are creating the first online SLP driven and forged by you, the community.

This lesson helps you start your LearnHub career with a few introductory steps to help you speed past that learning curve with relative ease:

Step #1 – Sign up to LearnHub

If you haven’t already, registering your own account is the first ideal step. It allows you have a personal profile, join and create communities, as well you have access to a vast amount of user-created knowledge. The sign up process is easy, all you need is a valid e-mail address and you’re set. If you don’t have an e-mail address yet, you can freely register a webmail account at Microsoft Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, or Google Mail.

To get started, register your account here.

Step #2 – Edit your Profile

Once you’ve completed the registration process and you now own your very own LearnHub account, take it to the next level by sharing information about you.

Your profile, or Workspace, is the central hub for all of your activity. It is also the destination other members go to learn more about who you are and where you are most active in the community. By sharing a photo, description, favorites, and academics, you are becoming a more well known by others.

To edit your profile, simply click the “Edit Profile” button found in your Workspace:

Here you can:

Upload a Photo: Uploading an avatar photo of yourself or your favorite image can be exciting, as well it gives all your activity a face.

Headline: Share your favorite quote with the community. Use a famous one or your own creation.

Location: Tell everyone where you’re from. You may just meet others from the same residence. But don’t be too specific, you don’t want to give away too much information. Your city and country is suffice.

Describe Yourself: Tell everyone a little bit about yourself and perhaps why you’re here at LearnHub.

Favorites: Share your favorite books and philosophers. You never know, you might find others have the same interests as you.

Academics: Why not show everyone where you’ve graduated from.

Filling in this information also generates some easy Authority!

Step #3 – Meet Mrs. Hubfellow

When you first become a LearnHub member, you may be overwhelmed. Joining the LearnHub Support community can be a helpful starting point. There you are offered a cache of lessons and discussions that can help you get accustom to the LearnHub platform.

If you want to jump right into a community that relates to your subject interest, use the community search. From here you can search a specific word(s), pick a language and a category. The more options you choose the narrower your search results will be.
